Pipe and Cable Locators

model-PDR
Model-505

DESCRIPTION

Pipe and cable locators use either audio or radio frequency (or a combination of both) to detect pipelines or cables.

APPLICATION(S)

Often used by Gas Distribution, Pipeline and Power Companies to locate and mark carriers prior to excavation.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

AUDIO FREQUENCY
The Audio frequency follows the flow of impressed audio frequency current in a coated pipe and determines where it leaves.

RADIO FREQUENCY
Radio frequency locaters can be used in 3 different ways. The first is "inductively," placing on the ground directly over the buried conductor. The second to "energize" the conductor by direct connection via a cable. The third operation uses a transmitter and receiver together allowing the fastest method known for locating unknown buried metallic objects
